Up on arrival you meet our representative and get transferred to hotel. On the next day you will picked up from the hotel for a full day city tour of the capital city. On the day after that, you fly to the Lake shore city of Bahirdar and have boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the nearest monasteries of Ura Kidane Meheret and Azwa Mariam of Zeghe peninsula. On the same day, you visit the Blue Nile Falls (This Falls is particularly spectacular during the rainy season of June, July and August). Next, you drive to the medieval city of Gondar by paying a short visit to Awramba village.  In Gonder, you visit the magnificent Imperial Castles compound which was the center of politics in the first half of 17thC.Also you visit the bath of King Fasiledes and the most famous church of Debrebrihan Selassie to admire the Ethiopian church paintings style in its superb form. After this, you fly to the ancient city of Aksum and visit its historical and archeological site which includes the magnificent Obelisks of Aksum and Aksum Tsion church. Then, you drive to the town of Mekelle by visiting the 6thc Yeha temple and some Tigray rock churches. On the following morning, continue the journey to the historic town of Lalibela. In Lalibela, visit the marvelous rock hewn churches of King Lalibela, one of the world Heritage sites registered by UNSCO. Next, you fly back to Addis Ababa and drive to a town called Awassa that hosts one of the many Ethiopian rift valley lakes; Awassa Lake. On your way to Awassa, you will get a chance to see one of the two famous lakes; namely Ziway and Langano.  On the day after that, you drive to Arbaminch and in getting there you will have a quick boat trip experience some herds of Hippo, sun bathing crocodiles and pelicans. Then, proceed via Derashe and Karat Konso to Jinka. Today, you drive across the heart of Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe whose women have a distinctive culture of inserting geometrical lip plates in the slits of their lower lips. In the same afternoon, drive to Turmi across Key Afer and Dimeka by visit Dimeka market where, you have access to see different tribes of the surroundings area in one spot. Next, you have an excursion to Korcho village to visit the Karo people who are famous for their body painting tradition. In the afternoon, you visit typical Hammer village near Turmi. On Thursday; you have another excursion to Omorate to visit the Dassanatch people known for their hair style. Following the excursion, while you are traveling to Konso, en route you visit Key Afar Market to meet the Benna, Tsemay and the Ari people. Before heading to Arbaminch, you visit the different cultural heritages of Konso people; recently announced as world heritage site UNSCO. Then, make one last excursion to Dorze village to see their unique handcraft and house structure. Finally, you drive back to Addis Ababa by visiting the stele of Tiya. In the evening, you have a farewell dinner at one of the best traditional restaurant of the capital.  Lastly, you will be transferred to Bole International airport to catch your flight back to home.

Day 1) Saturday, January.21/2012

Arrive in Addis Ababa at 09:15pm, meet our staff and get transfers to the hotel.

Day 2) Sunday, January.22/2012

You will be Picked-up from the hotel for a full day sightseeing tour of Addis Ababa which includes the Ethnological Museum in the former palace of King Hailesillassie, the National (Archaeological) Museum, the superb Holy Trinity Cathedral and St.George Cathedral with its museum.

Day 3) Monday, January.23/2012

Transfer to the airport and fly to Bahirdar by ET126 at 07:00am. After check in to the hotel, set out for a boat trip on Lake Tana to see beautiful island monasteries and their valuable treasures which include biblical wall paintings, crowns of different Ethiopian Kings, ancient illuminated parchment books, superb crosses etc. In the afternoon, you drive to the magnificent Blue Nile Falls. It is about 400 meter wide with full flood (in June, July and August to mid September).

Day 4) Tuesday, January.24/2012

Proceed to Gondar. On the way with a little detour from the main road you visit the village of the Awramba society (unique society in Ethiopia for their life style and custom) and their colorful wove Then, tour Gondar which includes the visit of the Royal Enclosure with its magnificent castles dated from the 17th and 18th century (world heritage site), the bath of king Fasiledes, and the remarkable church of Debrebrihan Selassie with its breathtaking 17th century wall and ceiling paintings.

Day 5) Wednesday, January.25/2012

In the morning, transfer to the airport to fly to Axum by ET128 at 08:30am. In Axum (world heritage site), Visit the famous stele park with its ancient huge monolithic obelisks, ruined palaces of different Axumite kings including that of the Queen of Sheba, ancient stone inscriptions, subterranean tombs, the small but rich archeological site museum of Axum and the church of St. Mary of Zion where the original Ark of the Covenant is believed to be housed etc.

Day 6) Thursday, January.26/2012

Drive to Mekelle visiting the ancient Temple of Yeha (5th. C.BC) and some fine Tigray rock churches such as Wukro Kirkos and Abreha We Atsbeha.

Day 7) Friday, January.27/2012

After breakfast leave for Lalibela passing through the stunning scenery of the North central Massif and the Tigrean plateau arriving Lalibela late afternoon. When you are about to enter to Lalibela, you visit the magnificent built-up cave church of King Yemrehana Kirstos. This atmospheric church is even older than that of King Lalibela’s Rock-hewn churches.

Day 8) Saturday, January.28/2012

In the morning, you visit the first group of King Lalibela’s 12th.C. Rock-hewn churches (World Heritage Site). In the afternoon, continue visiting the second group of King Lalibela’s 12th.C rock-hewn churches. Although all of these churches are carved out of huge blocks of rocks, each of them displays unique architectural features from the other.

Day 9) Sunday, January.29/2012

In the morning, transfer to the airport and fly back to Addis Ababa by ET2122 at 09:20am.Then, drive to the lake shore city of Awassa via some of the rift valley Lakes; like Ziway and Langano. In getting there, you can either rest or witness a beautiful sunset over one of the rift valley lakes of Ethiopia called Lake Awassa.

Day 10) Monday, January.30/2012

Drive from Awassa to Arbaminch. On arrival set out for a boat trip on Lake Chamo to experience some herds of Hippo, sun bathing crocodiles and pelicans. You will also have a chance to glimpse Abaya Lake as well. Then, proceed via Derashe and Karat Konso to Jinka.

Day 11) Tuesday, January.31/2012

Excursion drive to the fascinating Mursi people whose women adore wearing geometrical lip plates in the slits of their lower lips. The drive to the village of these people takes you in the heart of Mago National Park. Then drive from Jinka via Key Afer and Dimeka to Turmi. Enroute at Dimeka visit Women market for the Hammer, Benna, and sometimes Tsemay people.

Day 12) Wednesday, February.01/2012

Excursion drives to Murule; visit the Karo village at Korcho. Their village is perched in a magnificent setting overlooking the Omo River. The Karo are very small in number and they live at the bank of Omo River. During special ceremonies the Karo adore painting themselves in the imitation of the plumage of the guinea fowl. In the afternoon, explore a typical village of the Hammer people.

Day 13) Thursday, February.02/2012

Excursion drives to Omorate to visit the Dassanatch people and their village which is situated on the other side of the Omo River. In the afternoon, proceed from Turmi via Dimeka and Key Afar to Konso. En-route at Key Afar, you visit the colorful Thursday Market of the Benna and the Ari people with their local agricultural products. You will also visit the beautiful people of Erbore in the Weyto Valley.

Day 14) Friday, February.03/2012

In the morning visit the Konso terraced hills, the Konso's chief compound and his chiefly artifacts at Karat Konso. The Konso people are famous for their traditional terracing system and Waka Totem (Grave Wooden Totem) and continue to Arbaminch. Then, excursion drive to the highland people of the Dorze to visit their excellent beehive shaped bamboo houses, fertile grounds of false banana and colorful waving products.

Day 15) Saturday, February.04/2012

Leave Arbaminch to drive to the capital city. En-route you visit Tiya (World Heritage Site by UNSCO). This site is famous for its ancient monolithic stele which is engraved with some fascinating symbols. This route is inhabited by the Silte, the Kembata and the Welayta people. In the evening, you will be invited fare well dinner in one of the best traditional restaurants of the capital. After dinner, transfer to the airport for your departure flight at 11:25pm back to home. End of service.
