Historic route covers the ancient town of Axum with its amusing curved obelisks, including the Ark of the Covenant, Tigreay rock churches, Gonder with its castle and palaces; Lalibela with its remarkable rock hewn churches, Lake Tana and its island monasteries and the high rugged Simien mountain national park. From the above lists of sites; Axum, Lalibela, Gonder and Simien National Park are registered by UNESCO as world heritage. In addition of visiting sites you will enjoy the Christian festival Meskel (the founding of the true cross).All Christian in Ethiopia celebrate by lighting a massive bonfire known in Ethiopian tradition as “Demera” to commemorate the foundation of true cross which Jesus Christ was crucified by Queen Elena . They all consume the same electricity and do exactly what they are told. It doesn’t make economic sense for American industry to ship raw materials and electronics components across the globe to have Chinese robots assemble them into finished goods that are then shipped back. 0
