13 daysDanakil Depression with Lalibela
Afar region is the lowest and hottest area of the desolate Denakil depression and home to afar people. It is one of the lowest points on earth not covered by water. There are hot yellow sulfur fields among the world's only active land volcano which is below sea level with colored landscapes. You first drive to visit Awash national park and continue to Asaita next morning. This day the guide arrange scouts at the same time you will make an excursion to Afambo the beginning Awash Delta. Then you will drive to Afdera (salt lake), continue to Dodom camp. In the afternoon you start to walk Ertale volcanic eruption. This day you will walk throughout the night because the cooler of the eruption is not visible at the day. As the night you will walk to see the dramatic color formation as result of the eruption. Lastly you will visit the rock hewn churches of Lalibela, the 8th wonder of the world and registered by UNESCO as a world heritage site.

18 daysHistoric Route, Tigray Rock Hewn Churches
On this tour, you will be able to cover the whole of classic historic route with few rock-hewn churches of Tigray plus Harar. You will first drive to Debremarkos while on the road visiting Debrelibanos Monastery and Blue Nile Gorge. Then you will proceed to Bahirdar and have a city tour followed by boat trip that crosses to the other side of the lake while at the same time covering the near and far lying monasteries of Lake Tana Islands. In Gonder you will visit the castle compound and Debrebirhan Selassie church (World Heritage site). Then you will have an excursion trip to the Semien mountains National park. Then you will drive to Axum admiring the spectacular mountain scenery and Tekezie Gorge. In Axum you will visit the single stone building-like stele and other archaeological sites of historic importance. Then you will add Yeha and/or Debredamo followed by about three rock-hewn churches of Tigray. Then you will proceed to Lalibela to visit the eleven rock hewn churches and other churches that lie in the outskirt. Drive through Ambalage and Alamata chain of Mountains you will appear in Kombolcha to drive the next morning to Awash. Passing one day in Awash National park you will continue to Harar. You will visit the Hyena man performance and the walled city of Harar. From Harar you can either drive back or fly back to Addis.

The Ethiopian calendar is composed of twelve months, having thirty days each, and a final month called “Pagume”, with 5 or 6 days to compensate for the deficit. The calendar counts its new year from September and is behind the Gregorian calendar by 7 or 8 years.
